Landing Lights

Design: AECOM Architects

Undisclosed Location: 2013
This project seeks to improve the curbside to airside experience of one of the world's busiest airports. Utilizing a ribbon of colored light as a grand architectural gesture the design unifies the disparate components of the airport’s vehicular drop off area. This ribbon is accentuated by new sculptural light poles distributed at a regular interval. The culmination of the ribbon is at the international terminal where a new plaza and canopies draw the traveler into their individual journeys. The grand and theatrical gesture of the project welcomes travelers to the City as well as wishing them a memorable farewell.
