Takeout Box

Design: Gensler Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California: 2020
A mid rise development in the vibrant Little Osaka neighborhood of west Los Angeles this project aims to bring a new level of hospitality to the office market. The project incorporates plentiful outdoor terraces to building a visual and social connection to the surrounding community. Theses green terraces are also an homage to the history of the site and its plentiful nurseries. Thea facade geometries cellular structure is used to break down the scale of a new building that is much larger than the surrounding context of small boutique shops and restaurants. Through the middle of the site runs a vehicular access alley which has been re imagined as a pedestrian friendly paseo where the activity of the pedestrian takes precedent over the functional nature of the automobile.
